The Tongue

The Tongue is widely regarded as one of Australia's most imaginative and skillful MCs.After forging a reputation as fierce battle MC (and representing Australia at the ‘Battle 4 Supremacy’ in 2005) The Tongue was signed to Sydney label Elefant Traks.

His 2006 debut EP Bad Education spawned two hit singles The Punch and title track Bad Education both of which received heavy rotation on triple j. 
2007 saw the release of his breakthrough debut album Shock And Awe, and riding the success of jazzy love song Real Thing his tour sold-out 10 shows around the nation. 
The following 12 months saw his reputation grow in the live arena as he scored support slots for international acts such as Public Enemy, De La Soul, Pharoahe Monch and Dizzie Rascal.

The Tongue has since released two highly successful and entertaining mixtapes in Redux(2008) & The Tongue Is Dead (2009). 
He also toured as part of with reggae/hip hop trio Astronomy Class and featured on their 2009ARIA-nominated album Pursuit Of Happiness.
His new album Alternative Energy (Sept, 2010) is his most explosive and accomplished work yet and features production from Elgusto (Hermitude), M-Phazes and Dizz1 amongst others. 

The Tongue along with MANTRA will be supporting Drapht for the anticipated 'Life of Riley' national tour kicking off on the 6th of April in Hobart.
